Ray
Upchurch was born in Denver Colorado and moved to
northern California at the age of 11. He has a wealth of life experiences
and titles including custodial single Father, Christian, Film Maker
and Mortgage Broker.
The eldest of 4 children, Upchurch was raised by his mother Gloria
and 'Step-up' father Richard Lee. Upchurch did not meet his biological
father a professor of Sociology at Dartmouth University until the
age of 41. In 2002 he decided to visit him at his place of employment
and upon meeting him he breathed a sigh of relief for his life the
puzzle he felt was finally complete. Upchurch said at this point
his 'Daddy Hunger' was released.
After realizing this sense of completion from coming full circle
with his father, Upchurch vowed to make it his mission to help others
in their journey to seek resolution and understanding regarding
their own daddy issues. The completion of this project has enabled
Upchurch to share his vision and solutions regarding the significance
of fathers and fatherhood.
Upchurch was a successful mortgage broker for over 20 years but
he recently decided to follow his passion and created the critically
acclaimed and controversial documentary 'Daddy Hunger'. Through
this documentary Upchurch has experienced redemption, hope and love
and hopes to continue to help others to improve their lives.
Upchurch resides in northern California and is the dedicated father
of two boys ages 6 and 8.
